CABRAMATTA

Cabramatta is an established residential area, with a large commercial area near the railway station, and industrial land use along the Hume Highway. Cabramatta is bounded by St Johns Road, Bartley Street, Broomfield Street and the suburb of Canley Vale in the north, the Hume Highway in the east, Cabramatta Creek in the south, and the western boundary of Cabramatta Golf Club, Cabramatta Road West and Joseph Street in the west. Cabramatta is thought to be named from Aboriginal words meaning "fresh tasty water grub" and "a point or jutting out piece of land".
